From my vantage point at Two Figs Winery, at the top of the Mount Coolangatta foothill, Shoalhaven Heads is like something out of a children’s fairytale.
Green rolling hills, vast golden fields dotted with cows and horses, rows of vines, and a river winding through the middle of it.

More than just a convenient halfway point between Australia’s biggest cities, the NSW high country town of Tumbarumba is a wonderful destination in its own right, particularly for the caravan and motorhome crowd.
Its low-cost campsites are amongst the best you'll encounter, and you'll be richer for the decision to veer off the rather mind-dumbing Hume Highway. But Tumbarumba doesn't stop with great parks for motorhomers. It also offers to interesting history, wonderful local produce, award-winning wine, coffee as good any city barista can muster and a bounty of surrounding natural wonders.

The mountains and alpine valleys of Victoria’s North East corner are spectacular to visit all year round. With fresh mountain air, crisp clean water, and beautiful vistas in every direction, it’s an ideal RV destination in every season.
And it’s the ideal destination for RVers, with no less than five ‘RV Friendly Towns’ dotted around the place.

A motorhome is a good choice for exploring a large area and moving every night. It combined three important factors for us: transport, accommodation and ability to move on a daily basis. Two weeks seemed a reasonable amount of time to follow the coast south through the Margaret River region then east to Albany.

Sometimes you need to break out of your comfort zone when you go travelling. As a family we had jumped into the unknown — literally — from the very start of our 2000km adventure beginning in Darwin and ending in Broome.

From the orchards of the famed Tamar Valley to the bustle of Hobart’s seafood-laden waterfront to the magnificent winemakers along the Freycinet Coast, Tasmania offers something for all tastes. It’s easy to travel Tasmania in a motorhome but be aware that the roads are often narrow and winding and maps can be misleading. It will almost always take longer to get to your destination than you first estimate.
